Mathew Delamort

Visual Art – Nashville

Mathew Delamort is a tattoo artist originally from Los Angeles, California but currently resides in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He has been tattooing since 1991 which is around 28 years. He works at a shop called Nevermore Galleries Tattoo Studio. Delamort came from a family of tattoo artist that reach back to the golden age of tattooing, "so it may seem as if my apprenticeship started at birth." He realized that tattooing was right for him from the first time he tattooed. Delamort knew he had to do more, "I love creating art and using the human body as my canvas." Art, for Delamort, is life and life is art; from drawing to painting, sculpting and airbrushing. Art is the one thing that brings Delamort closer to God, "for God was the first artist." The past has helped him continue to grow, and has strengthened his resolve; without challenges there is no growth. He always aspires to be greater than his former self. Mathew's number one role model is his father, Jeff Frank (aka Wolfie), "everything that I’ve watched him do and we have been involved with has made me the man I am today. His love for the tattoo business and respect for those who came before us was deeply installed into my psyche." Every tattoo is a unique story about the person. Mathew tends to put a bit of his heart into every tattoo that he does because of his respect of the person, the trade, and the skin, "I get to add to the perfection that God has already created in living flesh." Delamort has been in The JanTan Body Paint Revolution (The Arnold Classic, Columbus, OH 2019). One of Mathew's passions are his children and family, "my children and family come first." Not only does Delamort tattoo, he also sculpts, draws, airbrushes, and paints. When he is not doing any art he can be seen riding his motorcycle out in the country to reset his mind and inspire himself.
