I am Kara Watanabe, a pyrography artist from Queens, New York, now based in San Diego. For about 10 years I have been using images of my friends and family, inanimate objects, and abstract designs as my subjects, integrating the natural wood grain, with all of its beautiful knots and imperfections, to enhance the images I burn.
