Visual Art – Nashville
My name is Heather Fry. I currently live with my husband, our 2 dogs and 2 cats in Shelbyville, TN. I come from a very small family, I was an only child of 2 only children. In January 2018 I lost my dad unexpectedly, 3 months later my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. She passed in September after an incredibly hard battle. Creating has always been an outlet for me. I have dabbled in many different mediums, but when I first tried string art, I was quickly amazed at just how soothing it was. Hammering the nails into the board got rid of aggression and applying the string design was so calming. It gave me something positive to focus on during a difficult and stressful time. My art became my therapy. I absolutely love the rewarding feeling of creating something unique that someone will proudly display in their homes.
