Emily Robison is a choreographer, performer, educator, and dance advocate based in Dallas, Texas. She is an alumna of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in Houston, Texas, and she has recently earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas. Emily was named one of Houston Press’ Top 100 Creatives for choreography and film after her dance film Repercussions was shown in Third Coast Dance Film Festival in 2014. Since then, she has created a variety of live choreographic works and films that have been presented at SHSU, Dance Gallery Festival, Barnstorm Dance Festival, {254} Dance Festival, Strictly Seattle, and Houston-based dance competitions. Her choreography has received multiple nominations for “outstanding talent, craftsmanship, and artistry,” and her duet Futile Attempts at Saving the Already Forgotten was chosen for a choreography award from SHSU in April 2018. Emily has also performed for accomplished artists such as Laura Gutierrez, Dana Nicolay, Andy Noble, Erin Reck, Andre Tyson, and Toni Valle. Most recently, she was a guest artist and collaborator in NobleMotion’s show “Catapult” as a soloist in Last Flight Home. Emily has taught ballet, jazz, and contemporary at various local dance studios, most notably MC Dance in Huntsville, Texas. Here she taught weekly classes in ballet and contemporary as well as choreographed for the award- winning competition teams.
