Atlas Dance Collective is a project-based dance company geared towards providing performance and choreographic opportunities for emerging artists. Atlas Dance Collective was founded in 2018 and is under the direction of Whitney Collins. Whitney earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Modern Dance along with a Minor in Earth Science from Utah Valley University. With over 18 years of dance experience, she has been developing a stunning resume encompassing her skills in performance, choreography, freelance, teaching, leadership, as well as dance for film and more. Whitney has had the honor to perform professionally for The Penguin Lady Dance Collective, 90&9's production of FIGHTER, BRINE, SALT Contemporary Dance's SaltPRO program, Lagoon Entertainment, and has been offered a position on Diavolo Dance Theatre's Institute Program in Los Angeles, California. In 2016 and 2017, Whitney had the privilege to attend the American Dance Festival’s 6-week summer intensive (ADF 6WS 2016 & 2017) in Durham, North Carolina, where she took opportunities to perform, network, attend professional dance concerts, collaborate, and continue her dance training. Most recently, Whitney has been continuing her professional dance training with the Penguin Lady Dance Collective under the direction of Natosha Washington. On top of directing Atlas Dance Collective and training with The Penguin Lady, Whitney teaches dance to the youth at The Verve Contemporary Dance Center and recently became and Adjunct Faculty Member in the UVU Department of dance. Whitney always does her best to stay active, current, and is always looking for ways to share her passion for dance. In the future, Whitney hopes to move to Los Angeles to pursue the position she has been offered in Diavolo's Institute Program.
