Heather Lokstet

Heather Lokstet is an artist from Stoney Creek, Ontario. She received her Honors BA from Brock University in 2008. Her artwork is strongly based in high realism and her interests lie in vivid color, portraiture, and spaces that are beautiful to most but fascinate and terrify her. Everything Lokstet sees day to day is broken down into colors which strongly influence her work. Her oldest passion explores the colors used to make up a person’s complexion; colors that are often lost between what the eyes see and the mind perceives. Rather than the classical portrait of a sitting and expectant subject, Lokstet captures the raw awkward expressions of her subjects recreating them in high realism and vivid color.
