Louis Lorencez

Film – Austin

Hailing from the south Texas bordertown, Laredo, Louis Lorencez is a second generation Mexican-American filmmaker whose work reflects not only the places he has been, but also the places he is going. With 12+ years of experience as an director, cinematographer and editor, Lorencez got his start shooting videos of his friends skateboarding. He produced his first full-length skateboarding film in 2006 called \"Wasted Youth: Take It As It Comes.\" Since those early days of picking up a camera as a hobby and shooting skateboarding videos, Lorencez has developed into a self-made, self-taught filmmaker with a passion for production. His work varies from documentaries, music videos, and promotional videos. Some of his material has been made with collaborations with productions like Black Canvas, Even Break, Adorable Creative and many more along with his independent videos. Lorencez started LouisMan Films in 2013 as a platform to help friends from Laredo grow and show their artistic side. Lorencez was selected by arts organization RAWArists in Dec. 2014 to be a contributing filmmaker. Through that opportunity, Lorencez directed the music video for “Halo” by Austin-based hip-hop artist ZEALE. Together with Gj Castro of Rogue City Media, Lorencez has directed and produced five music videos for fellow hometown rapper, Jay V. The latest video he directed, “Jayzilla,” premiered at the RAWArtists showcase at the The Belmont in Austin in Sept. 2015. Additionally, he worked as 2nd AC on major motion picture production, Journey, in 2015. Lorencez now resides in Austin, Texas
