Super Massive is the collaboration of singer/writer Malina Hamilton-Smith and drummer/composer Glenn Abbott.
Not interested in following musical trends, the duo lovingly craft their own unique, exhilarating and sexy future pop/rock music that explores the boundaries of pop, rock, electro, dance, disco and funk.
Their songs seamlessly blend dramatic, multi-layered synth-scapes with live rock instrumentation that\'s driven by funky dance grooves and topped off by Hamilton-Smith’s dynamic and expressive vocals.
With bassist Jed Wesley-Smith and guitarist Louis Georg joining them for live shows, Super Massive have toured Australia & Asia for five years, receiving excellent reviews, hit predictions and hot ticket recommendations. They are known for their intense and entertaining show.
Winners of a MusicOz Award for Best Alternative Artist for their debut single “Fists In My Pocket”, Super Massive’s debut self-titled EP received positive reviews and widespread community radio play, reached number 1 on various indie radio & TV charts and saw them named as one of Sydney’s best emerging electronic/dance/rock bands by media outlets including The Music Network, TimeOut Sydney, MX Magazine and Scout TV.
A second single from the EP, “Late At Night”, was Nokia Music Track of the Week.
Follow up single Get Me Out Of My Head also went to #1 on numerous indie radio and TV charts in Australia and the US.
The band’s most recent single, a swampy, electro-symphonic track called \"In The Twilight…\" is out now through iTunes and other digital retailers.
Super Massive’s debut album is due for release in 2014.
