Visual Art – Victoria
I turned my first bowl about 15 years ago while attending school in Sooke, and have been making things out of wood ever since. I attended BCIT for my Joinery apprenticeship and worked for a while building custom cabinets and furniture. I have been lucky enough to work in some amazing places around lower Vancouver Island, as far away as the Hawaiian Islands and Australia. Now I work out of a shop in Jordan River, surrounded by wood and water. I try my best to use local, sustainable or reclaimed materials and finishes to enhance the final product. The movement, colour and texture of wood I’m working with inspires me, and I try to incorporate that into every piece I make.
