Visual Art – New Orleans

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember, I made doll clothes for my Barbies and quilted with my aunt and grandmother. This how I learned about color and contrast. I paint and create art because it is a part of who I am. Through creating art, I feel complete. As a child, I was extremely shy and often found art helped me express myself. To this day, I use art better than I do words to express myself and give myself peace and focus. I have been an artist since I can remember. I began painting at 12, showing at 16 and selling shortly thereafter. I grew up in South Louisiana and as the daughter and granddaughter of farmers, I love nature, especially botanicals. But my favorite subjects are portraits and I focus on watercolors. In 2006, I received my BA in Art from Valdosta State University, I have worked as a graphic designer, children's museum director, teacher and selling artist.
