The Rx Cowboy

Fashion – Sacramento

Bio It was always simple: We were in our teens, chronically broke, living in San Francisco, going to fashion school, and working full time jobs. Plus, spending nights riding from art show to art show looking for inspiration (sometimes leaving our own along the way) till dawn. Using a limited budget, we bought and traded for everything we needed. With what small amount remained, we grabbed shirts and shorts from the drugstore so we could start our venture. We created only a few copies of each, which was usually whatever $20 – beer could buy us. But at the same time finding a way to never limit access to anyone who wanted to relate to what we were doing. Like most things, it's evolved with time. Now, we're still broke, paying off art school, and still working a 9-5 but we've found a way of continually creating one of a kind pieces (all by hand and each unique) by finding vintage and unwanted apparel, we've re-cut, un-cut, distressed, and designed one of a kind pieces bringing them back to life. The goal of drugstore cowboy is to keep it growing organically. Organically growing in the sense that it takes on a life of its own the more like minded people support it. Here's to never letting a dream die, never sitting still, saying thank you too much, and making it happen no matter what. -The Rx Cowboy-
