Visual Art – Richmond

As a kid, I found myself most often spending time alone, reading and writing stories for fun. As I got older I moved away from that into visual art, but have recently rekindled my passion for storytelling. As I further develop my craft, my aim is to learn how to express a broad invented narrative of my experience and the experiences of those around me in an expansive and relatable way, especially through the filter of ancient myths, folk stories, and southern gothic literature. My current focus is in painting and printmaking, but I am moving in a direction that further integrates fiber work into my practice, in order to challenge the boundaries of what a painting can or should be.
