Robot 85

Visual Art – Portland

My name is Nathan Turner, I grew up in Central California in a small beach town. My first lead into art was through skating. The bold colorful imagery, as well as graphic, clean line work led me into graffiti, in which I became immersed for the better part of 5 years. After 2 felonies as a teen, I decided that I needed a new creative outlet. In the years following, I slowly progressed into the fine art field, starting with my first clothing line, Seven Sinz Klothing. Using mediums familiar to me such as spray paint, paint pen,and acrylic I began making art on canvas as well as legal murals, while still maintaining my graffiti roots. The concept for Robot 85 came one day while painting, thinking of the position that our society puts us in and how we ourselves fit that position, just to get through everyday life. Since that first painting, over 200 robot paintings in several mediums have made their way in my journey to express my feelings about the dependence our society has on technology as well as how we\'ve all become robots in a system that\'s failing us.
