My personal work likes to dive into the idea of what beauty really is. I explore and merge concepts of monsters and beauty through various portraits illustrated through Photoshop. The result are humanesque figures, utilizing fantasy-inspired features. I like to play with storytelling and possible narratives through the figures I paint; forging them their own reality within the image. They often also have a beauty that is sublime, and surreal. By using the theme of fractured beauty, I am able to show many different figures in a way that could reflect as a persona. My work engages the viewer, inviting them into the subject’s world, to experience it together. These figures aren’t meant to be fully understood, but to simply fill a void in someone’s mind. Viewers are open to take whatever they wish from the work, whether it be a feeling, or narrative. My works are made with the intent of being viewed mostly via the digital world. Video gaming has remained with me through my whole expedition. The power to create a portal to an alternate reality is an honor to possess, and it brings nothing but excitement to be able to share my world to others.
