Born and raised in Southern California, Kel is best known for her functional wood art/frames and realistic artwork inspired by her travels. She found her interest in art while drawing anime style cartoons with her childhood friends and in her 3D design mixed media sculpture classes where she discovered the use of tools and mixed mediums.
After finishing business school, she began teaching small business to young adults where she reconnected with her drawing hobbies through entrepreneurial lessons that focused on finding your role through your current interests and skills. Kel began honing her interests and skills into realistic drawings which grew onto working with wood to frame her artwork, evolving into customizable and functional interior wood pieces where createthingseveryday was born.
At createthingseveryday, each wood piece handpicked at local lumber yards where special attention is taken in selecting the best quality available, making the result of each handmade piece unique. All items are made by Kel at her shop space in Newport Beach, CA
