One I Red

One I Red started when Mike Costello (Bass, keyboards) and long time friend Ian Parker (drums-who have played in numerous bands over the last 10 years) teamed up with Alfonso Payumo (guitar-also involved in countless bands, past and present) in early 2009. After a few months of creating their sound, Nikkie Stars (vocals, lyrics), responded to an ad on Myspace from One I Red looking for a vocalist in the San Diego area. Nikkie was it! One I Red, practiced hard and booked their first show at Brick By Brick in May of 2009. Soon after, they went into Doubletime Studios with Jeff Forest to record a demo CD, \"The Sound\" after only months being together. In 2011, One I Red having numerous shows under their belt, went in to record their first full length album \"Exposed\" at Sushifish Recording Studios in San Diego. Released in December 2011, the album has reflected the many different influences the band has as a whole, creating and defining their sound and showing their growth as individual musicians as well as a band. One I Red is aiming to keep creating music to whatever the inspiration is in the moment of writing. Keeping themselves open to any influence, inspiration, and creativity. In other words, they want to keep playing music for the love of music for all to enjoy!
