Niti Majethia is a 24 year old international award-winning writer, editor and spoken word activist. She has been featured on platforms such as UN Women, The Austin Chronicle, Brown Girl Magazine, Spark Magazine, So She Slays, Overachiever Magazine and numerous others. She grew up in Mumbai, India; and graduated with a degree in Rhetoric & Writing from The University of Texas at Austin. Also immensely passionate about sustainability, Majethia currently works full-time at UPL as their Global Marketing Communications Coordinator. - - - Niti was always a starry-eyed child. She spent her childhood nosediving into books, gazing at magazines, watching movies and listening to music — with a burning desire to create her own. At the age of 6, she began writing poetry. Her passion consumed her, she would write and read for hours everyday — all through her preteen and teen years. Majethia started off her career by winning 3 international awards for writing from Kidspirit Online. At the age of 15, she was invited to New York University to perform her award-winning work. She was then selected to work as an editor for Kidspirit. These were the origins of a career that would grow on and take her to Australia, the United Nations, and a lot more places… the world became her oyster. There was no looking back. And this was only the beginning. - - - B O O K S Majethia published her first book called Eunoia when she was 16. It garnered positive reviews from critics. She published her second book The Battle Cry: A little book of comfort and strength while she was in college, at the age of 22. The Battle Cry was also reviewed by a two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee, Mr. Henry William Brands Jr. - - - J O U R N A L I S M After her experience with Kidspirit, Majethia dabbled in fashion and lifestyle, and worked for Spark Magazine in Austin, Texas — first as a Writer, and then as a Copy Editor for their digital platform. In 2020, Majethia also worked as an Editorial Intern for The Austin Chronicle. As of today, Majethia’s words have been featured in numerous print and online publications and on practically countless blogs. - - - P U B L I C S P E A K I N G Apart from various independent events such as Uplift Festival in Byron Bay, Australia, Majethia has performed her poetry at shows by Raw Artists in Austin, Texas. She also sold tickets for the shows herself. In 2019, she was invited to the United Nations to speak about women’s rights and healthcare. - - - M E D I A P R E S E N C E Her quote “Deep in your wounds are seeds, waiting to grow beautiful flowers.” has gone viral on the internet. Niti was deemed ‘UT’s Poet Prodigy’ by Orange Magazine, and was featured as the ‘Brown Girl Of The Month’ in April 2017 by Brown Girl Magazine; amidst various other media features. She has also been on television various times, with her most recent appearance being on the TSTV show Good Morning Texas.
