Visual Art – Connecticut

Connecticut-based fine artist. Specializes in chalk pastel, charcoal, and pencil. Feminist, cat lady, traveler, color enthusiast. I’ve been drawing since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I was encouraged by my aunt to hone my talents. She and I visited nearly every museum in New York City sketching everything from Greek sculpture to Chuck Close. In high school I found a passion for portraiture, graphite, and colored pencil. Through college I grew and learned more about myself as an artist. I studied art history in Paris, France for a month. I pushed myself to tackle bright colors and daring subject matter, releasing my first solo show “Female Power and Choice” in April 2018 at Earl Gallery at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Today, as a recent graduate, I’m slowly learning how to incorporate art into my daily life, whether it be sketching on sticky notes during my lunch breaks, taking the long way home to admire the brightly colored Victorian houses of suburban Hartford, or decorating my apartment with seahorse shower curtains and faded green armchairs.
