Visual Art – Los Angeles

I am a Los Angeles based artist who began my career painting landscapes at the age of 14. Born in Canada and raised in LA, I first discovered my love of art when I was in elementary school and promptly started to take art classes at Mission: Renaissance fine art school. By the time I reached high school, I had fallen in love with capturing the beauty of nature on canvas. My paintings are mostly landscapes that are full of messy lines and lots of contrast. I paint very freely and imperfectly. I paint so that by the time it is complete, one could stare into the landscape forever and constantly discover new aspects. Landscapes are forgiving, and endless. I hope that my audience can look at my art closely and see it is just messy strokes of color, and then step back and see the whole, for it will always be greater than the sum of its parts. I hope, most of all, they see that the painting is one large mosaic of contrasting colors. One color does not stand out without the other and just like everything in life, it is this contrast of light and dark and the imperfection held in the brush strokes that make my paintings beautiful.
