Visual Art – New York - Brooklyn

I love reading stories – it is where all my painting ideas begin – and I paint with joy, every brush stroke and color is personal, honest, and intuitive. My work for the past two years has been rooted in the narratives, allegory, and illustrations of Fairy Tale and Folk literature. The women in my paintings are strong and enchanting heroines; and the beasts in my work are the aggressive (often masculine) sexual counterparts to my heroines. With my current work, I am investigating the landscapes, mythical creatures, curses, love, and magic that have persisted through centuries of storytelling.
