Music – Chicago

I am a Hip Hop artist from the state of Maryland (popularly known as the DMV in the rap world). I started writing music in 6th grade with inspiration from my father, who is a jazz and gospel musician. He put a keyboard in front of me at a young age and I started off by taking piano lessons and learning how to play the drums. I began to take Hip Hop more seriously my sophomore year in college. I took a leap of faith to try and record one song in studio with a couple of friends and it was a huge success. From that moment, I knew that music is something that I wanted to take to a more professional level and be involved with it for the rest of my life. Being an up and coming activist in the Chicago area, I try to use my music platform for a fun/positive message and touch on many issues that affect urban communities. The Creative Writing and music process started for me in 6th grade, freestyling over the beats of my favorite artist and making corny courses for songs in my classroom and at home. I have since then made a Mixtape, an EP, 5 music videos, countless YouTube Skits, performed at multiple venues and talked about music in public domains all throughout the Chicago area. I have even had the luxury of being interviewed by countless music magazines. Some of my influences and inspirations are J. Cole, Marvin Gaye, Tupac, Curtis Mayfield, Lauryn Hill, Jhene Aiko, Kanye West, KRS-One and Chuck D from Public Enemy, who I just recently had the pleasure of meeting. My main goal now is just getting more exposure and broadening my fan base. I really think that I have a great product that the world needs to have. I hope to continue to strive to new heights in the music world as well as life.
