Mariah Katherine

Visual Art – Kansas City

Mariah began painting at the age of 10. For her, it was therapeutic and later became a hobby. She always loved to create anything full of vibrant colors. One day her high school teacher introduced her to graphic design, which she pursued at Lincoln University in Missouri. Needless to say, Mariah had bigger dreams and later transferred to UMKC. That is where she was able to embrace the full effect of her creativity and passion for art. The education and love for art has carried her along the way as she now instructs inner-City youth African centered art, and uses it as a tool to create beautiful vibes amongst her loved ones. Mariah would always say you can feel her journey through her work of art; just admiring the different textures, colors, and patterns you’ll start to sense her energy during the creation process. For her, no artwork is the same and it all speaks to and from the spirit, whether it be good or bad.
