Mandie Keay is a Calgary based oil painting artist. For the past three years she was living in San Francisco where she furthered her skills as an independent artist through gallery shows, local art fairs, and engaging with the local artists. The vibrancy of SF has captivated her and has led to her move in 2016. She is inspired by and sees the beauty in the balance, simplicity, and organic nature of all life forms. This is shown in her paintings that are painted on wood and are tinted with a natural wash to bring out the wood grain patterns. Her signature mandala designs compliment the zen essence of all her subjects, which are all beautifully rendered women that are sensual and within the element of the paintings. Despite the realism portrayed through her detailed and tight brush strokes, the composition nevertheless brings out a relaxed sensation where the body and mind is one with nature.
