Fashion – Toronto
Manar Shams is an emerging fashion and costume designer based in London, Ontario. She recently graduated from Fanshawe College's fashion design program and has a strong fine arts background, specializing in sculptural and textile arts. Manar showcased her first place winning design at Toronto Fashion Week 2016 for the Visibility by Design Competition. She also participates in the annual CAISA Fashion Show, the largest student-run fashion show in Canada for 3 years, showing one-of-a-kind streetwear. Manar has also worked with wearable technology and has crafted a collection with couturier detailing for her graduate show, Unbound. Manar's work is described as groundbreaking and innovative with a diverse range of aesthetic themes, from clean cut futuristic streetwear, custom printed graffiti active wear, and a culturally inspired line of couture evening wear!
