Mistina Hanscom attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in 2002. In 2005, while working for David LaChapelle, Mistina's saturated theatrical visions began to form. She has an eye for making reality a theatrical event without compromising her subjects true identity. An artistic alchemy occurs that melds her technical skill behind the camera and her imagination with the infinite possibilities of digital post production. Mistina calls her shots "a look through the keyhole at a family's life in their safe zone". It has been said that her images appear to be a still-life versions of a movie. Luke Hanscom moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 2002 where he too attended the Brooks Institute of Photography. Luke left California for New York City in 2005 where he worked with industry leading photographers such as Richard Pierce, Peggy Sirota, and Annie Leibovitz. His fine art work which can be viewed at www.lukehanscom.com, these works explore perceived realities through the use of multiple mediums employing his strong photographic background with the use of both digital and analogue techniques. Conversely his clean, graphic commercial work exhibits meticulously refined imagery with an emphasis on strong saturated color. Mistina and Luke Hanscom meet at the Brooks Institute of Photography where early on a common vision for highly conceptualized imagery began to build. Together, through years of trial and error, a symbiotic photographic relationship was formed allowing them to not only live and work together, but to enrich each others imagery.
