Visual Art – Portland

After 20 years of working in community Social Services with frail elderly, and disabled adults, I needed to find an outlet for the high stress that began taking a toll on my health. Impulsively, I took a class at a local art store where my creative self was born. I immediately began stamping, card making and experimenting with a variety of paper arts. Then, through a happy accident, I discovered a completely unique way to use alcohol inks! Since then I have gleefully experimented with an assortment of inks and mixed media tools to fine-tune my technique. After becoming ill in 2008, my art gave me something to focus on, helping me to face my pain, depression, insomnia, and anxiety with, much success. I adamantly believe that art was essential in my recovery. I currently live in Portland, Oregon with my husband of 27 years and two delightful but very spoiled cats, AJ and Trixie. In addition to working with alcohol inks, very recently I broadened my work to include acrylic paint pouring and fluid art, as well.
