Laura Hope

I am an abstract expressionist painter and multidisciplinary artist with a focus on communicating emotional, cognitive, and spiritual experience. I am based on the gold coast and worked primarily on abstract expressionist paintings although I am working towards releasing an album in 2019 and a photography folio. I have created works for individuals through commissions and private sales as well as bodies of work showcasing in Sydney for ‘iFlorish Conference’ and the Gold Coast ‘RAW Envisage’. I paint intuitively with subject matter ranging from pure expressionism to recognisable themes and content. My primary inspiration is derived from the natural world utilising key abstract techniques and stylisation to emphasise emotional, psychological, and spiritual motives. It is my aim to use my art as a platform to discuss mental illness and help to normalise mental health problems with the aim of encouraging other people to seek help, without fear and with honesty. I hope to achieve this through open discussion about the real impact my mental health has had on my day to day life while sharing my work.
