Latoya Boyd Jewelry

Accessories – Los Angeles

My first memory of jewelry was my grandmothers jewelry box. I still have the very piece of jewelry that started my obsession. It's a beautiful aurora borealis triangular necklace. Her jewelry box was a mix of costume, fashion and fine jewelry. I promised myself, one day I would have a jewelry box just as amazing as hers. I made my first piece of jewelry at age 14. Busy Bee Craft Store quickly became my second home. I started my first job working at the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire that Spring/Summer and I always saved my money for jewelry supplies each and every week I got paid. In middle school, I started selling hand beaded jewelry; bracelets, belly chains, rings, earrings and necklaces. I even created friendship bracelets for my closest friends. My journey to jewelry~ In 2010, I shipped out to be a Mechanic in the Army. I deployed to Afghanistan for a year and rediscovered my passion for gems and jewelry. March 2014, I discharged out of the Army and just two months later, I drove to Los Angeles California from Fairbanks Alaska and started attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for Jewelry and Metalsmithing Arts. By December 2014, I got my resale license. I continued my education at The Gemological Institute of America or GIA, earning a certificate in CAD Jewelry Design and the most coveted Graduate Gemology degree. I initially started Latoya Boyd Jewelry during my first year of college to pay for my living expenses. A year into college my father was preparing me for some hard days to come. After years in a convalescent home, my father, my biggest fan, had passed away just 4 days shy of my daughter coming home to live with me. I’m sure you can imagine suddenly becoming a single parent, and losing a parent all while attending college full-time is quite a bit to juggle all at once. Through it all, I remained focused on not just creating the jewelry business of my dreams, but more importantly, be able to support my family doing it. Thankfully, the universe was guiding me all the while, and in 2017, Latoya Boyd Jewelry became my sole income source to support my family. I am grateful and blessed to be of service to YOU. What's New? Today, Latoya Boyd Jewelry has grown to become recognized through guest appearances on radio shows, podcasts, museum shops, blogs and magazines, locally and globally, and is starting to become a known name in the jewelry industry. I recently teamed up with up Owner and Fashion Designer, Randy Richard Morales of the LA based yoga fashion brand S.I.E.X, or Speak Into Existence, to create an exclusive yoga jewelry line. I love creating unique, One of a Kind designs for my amazing clients and customers. Each and every piece created at Latoya Boyd Jewelry is truly a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted work of art from start to finish. Each piece is carefully packaged, and ready to gift. It gives me such great pleasure and purpose to create beautiful jewelry that inspires you, and shows off your personal style.
