Visual Art – Houston
My audacious, bubbly, optimistic personality beams from my art. Using the colors of the rainbow and a lot of love from above, I create captivating works of art. Throughout high school to college, majoring in art at Texas State University, my passion to create burned brighter every day! My decision to start a business came when I had my first opportunity to live paint at a convention. I was nervous to paint in front of so many people with a limited amount of time. Worried that I wouldn't finish in time or if the attendees would even like my work, I had all these negative thoughts running through my head. What were they thinking? Did I do alright?
After gathering my composure, I just winged it. I let my paintbrush fly from color to color, not worrying about the mix or the perfection of my lines. Gosh, I didn't even know what to paint haha. Alas, the time was up and the event was over and I was finished! Attendees started buzzing around me asking all the questions and giving so much praise for the piece I just slapped on the canvas. One lovely lady came up to me looking almost hurt. She expressed how watching me create something out of nothing made her feel hopeful. She told me of her daughter who had been struggling with addiction, the trials and tribulations that they were undergoing as a family. She told me "You have painted a tree of life". This touched me beyond words. As she said her goodbye, she informed me that she would tell her daughter about this painting and the hope it gave her.
I pushed myself, put myself in an uncomfortable situation, did something I had never done before, fought negative thoughts the whole way, moved past my comfort zone & my 'thought-to-be' limitations. I broke past the barrier of fear and surpassed my expectations, but the most rewarding part was meeting that lovely lady and being able to reach her heart.
The pieces I create consist of colorful abstract paintings on large-scale canvas. I work with many different mediums & always looking to make something new. I dabble in acrylic, watercolor, ink, glitter and 3D gel/texture. Working with color is my strong suit!
Not only do I enjoy painting but I also have a passion for dance & being in front of the camera. Photography strikes me as another form of painting and I enjoy making myself into a moving art piece. Dance also has been a huge influence on my creative expression and my art.
I want to connect people all over the world and share my creative gifts with them. I want to not only share my world, but learn from others as well. I want to build a community of friends and followers to come with me on my journey across the world! Learning new techniques and mediums of art, perfecting my dance moves, translating emotions from film screen to the audience, to make my way to large platforms and meet/reach as many creatives as I can.
My passion is to inspire others. If I can be an advocate for someone to take a leap of faith, my heart is full. To shed light in the areas that seem dark and give people motivation to reach goals that seem unobtainable. I want people to discover the fire that dwells inside, find motivation and know they are WORTHY.
