Visual Art – Raleigh

Hi! My name is Lael. I'm a self-taught artist and illustrator, born and raised from Brooklyn, NY. After living in Brooklyn for 17 years, my family and I moved to Cary, NC in June 2016. I am currently attending Regent University located in Virginia Beach, VA and will be finishing up my last two years there for my Bachelor's Degree in Animation. I have been drawing my whole life, but I didn't start taking my drawing skills seriously until June 2012. Ever since then, I've been growing and improving every day! I have experience in original character design, concept art, surreal artwork, illustration, cartooning, still life, portraits, and prop designing. For the past few years, I've been blessed with the opportunity to work on two separate children's books (which I'm currently in the process of working on), and I've been offered to create prop designs for the Christian Broadcasting Network's animated TV show, "Superbook." My long term goal is to open my own multimedia company that centers on biblical Scripture and Christian undertones. I'm also a self-taught puppeteer; therefore, I would love to produce both animated and live-action features for all ages to enjoy. My main target audience would be focused on children from ages 6-12, however, that could change since I'm still figuring out which kind of audience I'm supposed to create content for.
