Photography – Denver

Long before I touched a camera I was always drawing. I wanted to be the next Picasso or Van Gough. The way Picasso saw his subject, the way he showed us, the colors and strokes of the brush from Van Gough drew me to art. My Mom loved to paint. I would watch her for hours, I loved the smell of the oils and the way the colors mixed. So ever since I picked up my first camera I wondered what I could do next, could I combine my love of art with photography. I have spent hours in the dark room developing, printing and pushing the limits of the medium to see what I could do. In our digital age I can now push it farther than I ever thought. I can combine the two mediums into one, continuously experimenting, continuously learning. Since coming back home to Colorado I’m energized. I’m seeing so much more than I ever have before and I want to share it with you, the way I see it. “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” - Thomas Merton
