Karen Minami

Tokyo born Karen Minami began dancing at age 7, following in the footsteps of her mother who was also a dancer. Studying at ‘Ikuko Kanemitsu Dance Company’, she specialised in Theatre and Broadway Jazz. Awarded the GrandPrix at Jazz Dance Art Association Competition in 2007. Karen joined the dance musical troupe ‘Ballet Caravan’ in Tokyo when she was aged 18. She performed with the troupe at prestigious theatres in Tokyo for many years. In 2013 Karen decided to move to Byron Bay, Australia to enhance her quality of life. Now Karen performs many types of dancing with her own choreography and group choreography at the major festivals and prestigious venues around the Northern Rivers area. She also frequently hosts unique dance workshops such as Electro Swing, chair dance and sexy jazz etc... in Byron bay. She also performs as a dance duo "Foxy Ninjas" . ​
