Julia Ring Photography

Photography – Milwaukee, WI

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Julia Ring studies anthropology and museum studies at Beloit College. While not studying, she works as a collections assistant at the Wright Museum of Art, mounting and photographing collections, and designing and installing exhibits. She has also been selected to be the coordinator and curator for the 59th Annual Beloit & Vicinity Juried Art Exhibition, at the Wright Museum of Art. Julia's interest in photography has grown in part with her love of the outdoors. An avid outdoorswoman, Julia is a natural (no pun intended) landscape photographer. Her travels have taken her from the barren north of the Yukon, up to remote fire lookouts in the Colorado Rockies. When she isn't hiding in wild places, she takes just as much joy shooting cityscapes, especially Milwaukee, as she does landscapes. She won first place in the Beloit College Luke Somers International Off-Campus Photography competition in 2016. Her work has been featured on the National Outdoor Leadership School website, as well as the Beloit College Annual Juried Art Exhibition, and Gallery Abba. ...more
