Johanna Chase

Music – Los Angeles

Seattle born, Johanna Chase, is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Having toured several times nationally and regionally (Pretty Kind of Off White Tour 2006, TMJ Tour 2008, I Heart People Tour 2011), Johanna Chase is a seasoned veteran to the indie and grass roots music scene on the West Coast. Opening for Noah Gundersen, Aaron Sprinkle, Barcelona and David Bazan to name a few, Johanna\'s earlier folk/rock song writing came from her Northwest roots. Her career beginnings have led her to play in notable venues across the country such as Eddie\'s Attic (Decatur), The Triple Door (Seattle), Hotel Cafe (Los Angeles), Webster Hall (NYC), MoMo\'s (Austin), SXSW 2012 and recording her latest studio record \"#<3\" with producer Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, Rhett Miller, Nelly McKay, Rufus Wainwright, Afro-Jersey). Johanna Chase is a multi-genre artist who can fuse many sounds together as she adapts her voice and musicianship to multiple projects. She has collaborated with great artists such as Huit Kilos (Ricardo Lemvo), Joey Ryan (Milk Carton Kids), Robert DeLong (Glassnote Records), and Z the Band (Nas). After turning down help from Madonna in 2003, in an effort to maintain artist control, Johanna has allowed her music to evolve along with her understanding of the music business over time. She has independently funded her tours and records through crowd funding. Chase\'s voice is exceptional and versatile and her songwriting and sincerity are contagious.
