Jill Wilhelm

I am a self-taught artist, born in 1963 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. I was raised in Sac City, Iowa. I have loved art from an early age. As I entered high school I took every art class available, and I would get passes from the art teacher to get out of study hall so I was able to do more art. In 1981 when I was in high school I received an honorable mention for an art piece from an Art Education show. I received a diploma in Graphic Communications, in 1987. After that I didn’t create art for a long time. Currently my favorite medium is acrylic on canvas. I prefer to do large pieces over small ones. Also my favorite styles of art are abstract, modern, cubic, organic, and pop art. In 2011 I won honorable mention at the Des Moines Woman\'s Club Art Exhibit. In October 2011,2012 and 2013 I participated in \"The Artrageous Art Show\" and sale, in the East Village. In August of 2012 I was in an exhibit RawArtist/Radiate, also RawArtist/Generation in February 2013 which both were shared with other local artists.I painted live both evenings. I was in a solo exhibition titled \"Affordable Abstract Art\" at the Grinnell Art Gallery, in Grinnell , IA in November 2012. Additionally I have displayed my artwork in various businesses through out the Des Moines area.
