Visual Art – Orange County

Well, I can say that I\'ve loved art and been practicing it since I was ten. I earned a BFA at Cal State Long Beach in Illustration in 2010. But I think I really got serious about making art my life a year ago. It\'s hard to accomplish something if you don\'t have a specific goal. It\'s doable, but harder. After figuring out what I wanted to do my last semester in college, I started taking classes at another school focussing on 2D art for animation. I was learning a lot but still not going anywhere. About a year ago I found my focus had dwindled, I was taking on more responsibilities at a job I didn\'t have interest in staying at, was stressed and wondering what I was doing with my life. Apparently I needed to get to this point. I decided to make art my priority since that, after all, is what I love. What helped me the most I think is like the online equivalent of RAW. ART BLOGS. I would go online every morning and see what other artists where doing. And it was so inspiring. I started making my own pieces, one after the other, inspired by daily events in my life and fueled by the inspiration I found in others\' work. So now I want to be a visual development artist for animation. It\'s very competitive, but like I said, it\'s easier to accomplish something when you have a specific goal, and love what you do!
