Fashion – Montréal

Artist since childhood, Janie McLaughlin expresses her creativity through drawing and painting. Her passion for the arts led her to a career in fashion design. Originally from Rivière-du-Portage, New Brunswick, she left her native village for a college degree in Fashion Design at Notre Dame-de-Foy Campus in Quebec. Towards the end of her studies, Janie took the opportunity to present her first Fall / Winter 2014-2015 collection at Ottawa Fashion Week held in February 2014. This first collection led her to develop her clothing and tailoring business in New Brunswick. Despite her success, Janie McLaughlin felt that she was missing specific skills and decided to continue her studies at the École Supérieure de Mode, ESG UQÀM. Following the advice of teachers and during her internship at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Belgium, Janie discovers her path as well as her unique esthetics. Her mission? To create unique quality apparel and accessories from handmade and artisanal textiles.
