Russian-born, Toronto-based Irina Bikeeva has been designing clothes for over a dacade. She received a classical education with an emphasis on languages and literature, and gained appreciation for the arts, especially dance and fashion. She saw early on that fashion design is a unique means of self-expression that could distinguish her style from the cookie-cutter fashions sold in stores. Having learned the basics of drafting and sewing in her early teens, she moved on to making more complex garments. She has been sewing for about 15 years both for herself and private clientele.
