Visual Art – Dallas - Fort Worth

Hello! My name is Haris Feratovic, I’m a colorblind finger painter from Coppell, Texas. I’m self taught, having started in late 2016 for fun, I quickly started to find a sense of bliss from pressing thick oil paints into canvas. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, but never dared to delve into painting because of my colorblindness. I realized later on that letting go of realism, and letting my thoughts flow without restriction would let my talent reveal itself. My paintings come from my mind, each piece being a subtle reflection of my mental state during the time I created the piece. With my first series (A stroll through my eyes) focusing on landscapes, my next series focuses on a deeper sense of self and self exploration. I have Protanopia colorblindness. Protans have a difficulty distinguishing between blue and green colors and also between red and green colors. Instead of letting this control my paintings, I let my imagination do the work. If you understand the medium, you don’t need to understand the color, just how to blend it. I currently reside in Coppell, Texas, where I continue to pursure my dream of becoming a full time artist.
