Visual Art – Phoenix

I didn't even really want to be an artist as a kid; I wanted to be a writer. I loved coming up with stories and still do; but my stories manifest in visual art now; and really are just images for my audience to come up with their own stories. I was formally introduced to acrylic paint in high school and I've been painting/storytelling for over 10 years now. I'm pretty much an emotional abstract painter, coming up with some of my best work when I'm pissed off or hurt or worried, stressed etc. Someone who creates this way eventually learns that you're not always going to be down or on top of the world but somewhere in between. So what do I paint when I'm neither this or that? I  usually exercise my skills by starting with the colors I'm feeling or am currently attracted to. Putting paint to canvas, I just let the strokes flow and whatever that stroke that splotch begin to look like the most is what I go with. Add some emotion provoking music into the process and I start to get some pretty unique pieces that take my abstract talents to the next level. I am an abstract artist, my medium is acrylic but I am not limited to it; I can make a beautiful mess out of anything.
