Visual Art – Atlanta

My work has given me, like many others, an outlet to explore what I want to express through my art. I feel that the fact that I have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) defines my artistic identity. I believed having ADHD was a weakness until I discovered that I could use those attributes in my art. Practicing dotwork techniques helped me realize that having ADHD is an ability that I should embrace. Pointillism has provided me an outlet that helps to manage my adult ADHD. I am able to use stippling to focus my abundance of energy and compulsive moving tendencies into one repetitive action. Working on each piece is a form of meditation for me, where I spend countless hours defining details in each piece. With stippling and pointillism I am able to dissect an object down to a single point, giving me the control to incorporate the smallest nuances that make my work come to life. It can take triple the amount of time to draw a single line utilizing the stippling method over more traditional techniques. In order to achieve this high level of realism, I dedicate a minimum of 24 working hours to each piece. Each work should ignite your sense of touch and memory of feeling the physical object.
