Deep Sea Humanity

Fashion – Los Angeles

Lauren Colvin strives to create designs that are CAPTIVATING, RADIANT AND MINDFUL. For this Runway Showcase she will be developing a new collection for her sustainable brand Deep Sea Humanity created with her best friend Annelise Tappe. While lounging on a beach in Southern California they dreamt of a clothing brand that was more than just trendy clothes, it served a purpose. They merged their love of fashion and the ocean to create Deep Sea Humanity. Deep Sea Humanity is ethically produced and sustainably sourced- so you can be guilt free while rocking quality clothes that are as beautiful and wild as you. We only use materials that are kind to the earth and its people, because we know that we only get one planet Earth- and to coexist with it means being mindful of every impact that we are making. Oh, and each piece gives back to marine conservation, so you're already making a difference. Each of our designs are inspired by the ocean and keep a beach-lover in mind. Whether you’re heading to the beach or dancing the night away, our pieces will fit the occasion (and the cause). When we set out to create a sustainable label that was not only inspired by, but also gave back to the earth, we knew sticking to our identity would be vital. We soon learned the dirty but prevalent truths about the fashion industry- truths so big, they tended to guide the practices and sustainability standards (or lack thereof). We want deeply to break the status quo, and inspire the world to do the same. We believe that sustainable fabrics should still have a great fit, and that style and quality do not have to be mutually exclusive. More than anything, we believe our purpose is to leave the Earth in a little better shape than how we found it, and this starts with clothing that positively impacts our Earth and its peoples. *Photos below reflect Lauren Colvin's designs over the years and a few Deep Sea Humanity pieces.
