Dawnielle Castledine

Visual Art – Austin

Dawnielle Castledine was born in Austin, TX to a silversmith and a carpenter. Her adventures with 2D art are, in many ways, a continuation of her parents’ creative visions for whimsy in daily life - raw surrealist imagery exploring depths and heights, from dark charcoal drawings to bright acrylic paintings, currently chalk pastels, and ink. Dawnielle’s professional artistic endeavors started after her mother passed away in 2013. It was in this moment she decided to push through fear - what ultimately was her mother’s downfall - and to pursue the path which scared her the most. She draws inspiration from the Surrealist and Minimalist art movements, as well as modern architects, jewelers, designers, and Nature. She is currently building her portfolio and resume before moving to the Pacific Northwest to immerse herself in the forest and ocean and pursue an MFA.
