Visual Art – Raleigh
My name is Raquel Assanoua. I’m a new, self-taught artist of Panamanian, French and African descent originally from Miami, FL now based out of Raleigh, NC. New, meaning I recently decided to put my creativity out there for the world to see. I was always a creative, apparently from the minute I was born influenced by my own overactive imagination and most likely because of being raised by a multi-talented Panamanian mother. As a child, I sketched faces with pencil, charcoal and pastels but since I picked up the paint brush during the summer of 2017, I have fallen in love with painting and fluid media. I’m a sensitive person that feels everything to the fullest and I have learned to enjoy that about myself. I think that reflects in my work and my ultimate goal is to inspire others to feel the love that I put into every piece. My greatest hope is to create full time.
