My name is Cassandra L Edler and I am a 28 year old artist. Born and raised in Joliet, IL. I have received a Associates Degree in Visual Arts from Joliet Junior College and then went on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Art from Edgewood College in Madison, WI. As far back as I can remember, I have been creative and wanting to be a artist. Choosing that path wasn't a hard one because I have always followed my passions. Going to college was the best choice I ever made as an artist. I say that because I was given access equipment and exposed to different art forms that I otherwise would never had the opportunity to explore on my own. I am so grateful to all my professors who helped me and pushed me to explore my own artistry. After exploring different mediums I identify myself as a Multi-media Sculptor and a Black and White Film Photographer. Nothing gets me more excited then sitting down with a block of clay and creating something with my hands, or the smell of developer on my hands in the dark room. Finding your passion and being able to make it into your career I have found to be the hardest thing to do in this world we live in, but I am forever in the pursuit of my own happiness, and what makes me happy is my art. I hope you come to the show and enjoy exploring the minds of all the wonderful artists showcasing in Chicago April 2019.
