Visual Art – Nashville

I discovered painting 3 years ago as a way to express the inexpressible in my life, when my best friend and fellow artist Peter Kline took me to Cy Twombley’s museum and Rothko Chapel to explain his own inspiration. This was followed by a trip to the Houston Art Supplies Store. We listened to Florence and the Machine and painted for 3 hours with no talking. It was that place of full emptiness, of saying nothing, that I encountered myself in a new way. In doing so, I have also encountered others for whom art has given them the ability to speak, and am so grateful to be a part of this strange and wondrous community.
