Performing Art – Nashville
I am a spoken word poet and songwriter influenced by the Los Angeles slam poetry scene, and I have recently moved to Nashville to further pursue my writing career. The first time I heard a spoken word piece, I felt like I had found a home. Slam poetry has given me a platform to express my painful emotions in a way that does not make me a victim. It has given me the chance to take my pain and turn it into something beautiful, which gives me the power back over my life and away from the experiences that otherwise made me feel powerless. Performance poetry has been such a gift to my soul, and I want to make others feel the way I did when I first heard a performance that touched me deeply.
