Performing Art – Phoenix

Ayanna Conway is from Phoenix, Arizona and began dancing at an early age. She would always jump at every opportunity to dance and perform on stage, from school talent shows, to community events all over the valley. After completing her reign as the 2011-2012 Junior Miss Black Arizona Queen at the age of 12, she began to study dance and grow in technique. Since then, she has been featured in music videos and has even had the opportunity to dance on television. In addition to Hip Hop, Ayanna has a background in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical/Contemporary. Ayanna danced professionally for the Phoenix Suns Solar Squad and the Phoenix Mercury Hip Hop Squad. Deep rooted in her Christian upbringing, Ayanna has ventured into a variety of dance roles. From helping to interpret the life of Civil Rights Activist Harriet Tubman through the dance production entitled Sister Moses, to exposing the art of dance to kids throughout the community with the Be Kind Crew, and even playing characters in musical theatre productions such as West Side Story and Grease, Ayanna keeps a busy schedule while balancing her education as a college student at Grand Canyon University, majoring in a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. Ayanna currently teaches Hip Hop at Evolve Dance and Fitness and The Studance Lab while also choreographing for dance companies and high schools all across the valley.
