Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre

Performing Art – San Diego

Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre’s mission is to ignite imagination and inspiration in audiences through thrilling storytelling that fuses the traditions of ballet, dance theatre, and cirque nouveau. Named for the titan god of the stars and the father of the wind, Astraeus was founded by aerialist and former California Ballet principal Ballerina Jennifer Curry Wingrove. Based in San Diego, CA, and supported by producer Wingrove Studios Presents, Astraeus boasts a company of professional dancers and aerialists who are passionate about sharing their art with the world. Encouraged to present at San Diego International Fringe Festival 2015, the group that came to be Astraeus Aerial Dance Theatre became an instant hit with critics and audiences, winning top honor Best of Fringe for their first aerial dance project “Save My Soul”. In 2016, Astraeus took home Oustanding World Premier from the SD International Fringe Festival for their production "MYTHOS: Opening Pandora's Box", as well as the top honor Fringe Pick from the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival. The company includes Kiona Daelyn, Laura Dasi, Zoe Irvine, Cecilia Marie, Molly Alghussain, and Jennifer Curry Wingrove.
