Performing Art – San Antonio

Amanda Flores is a two-time Grand Slam Poetry Champion of San Antonio; 2014's Grand Slam Poetry Champion of San Francisco; and two-time winner of "La Voz," the first & only citywide spoken word competition in SA. A published poet and proud graduate of Trinity University, Amanda has competed and performed across the nation, from New York and California to the Twin Cities and Harvard University. Before relocating to New York City about a year ago, Amanda served as creative writing instructor for the Golden Writers of the Bihl Haus Arts GO! Arts Program (a senior-centered arts program; ages 55+), facilitated performance and writing workshops in schools across the city through Gemini Ink’s Writers-in-Communities programming, and also taught independently for San Anto Cultural Arts and others. Her performances have been featured by every morning show in SA, on the Kens 5 Instant Replay sports segment during 2013’s NBA Western Conference Finals, at the annual People Magazine en Español Festival and, most recently, by Russell Simmons on his All Def Digital Channel.
